Empowered Beginnings
Your birth matters, and you deserve compassionate support that helps you feel prepared, confident, and cared for.
What is a birth doula?
As a doula, I offer non-medical support during labour and delivery. My goal is to foster an atmosphere of comfort and confidence so that you feel empowered by and satisfied with your birth experience. Drawing upon professional knowledge and experiences, I help create your ideal birthing atmosphere, provide emotional encouragement, offer physical comfort support & suggest relaxation techniques.
As your doula, I am working for you, not your caregiver or the hospital. I always aim to enhance communication between you and your healthcare providers, allowing you to make informed decisions throughout the labour and delivery process.
My View on Birth
Birth is deeply personal, and I believe there is no single “right” way to experience it. Whether you feel most at ease in a hospital surrounded by a medical team, or at home creating a cozy space surrounded by scented candles, your birth should reflect what makes you feel safe, confident, and supported.
My role as your doula is never to decide what your birth should look like. Instead, I’m here to listen, support your choices, and help create the space for you to have the experience you envision for yourself. I have an incredible amount of trust in the wisdom and capability of the birthing body, and I want you to feel that same trust in yourself as you move through labour and birth.
Birth was never meant to be something we navigate alone. For thousands of years, birthing people have been surrounded by others offering encouragement, comfort, knowledge, and care. Having continuous support during labour can make a meaningful difference in how a person experiences their birth, and being part of that support system is something I feel incredibly honoured to do.
I believe deeply in my calling to support parents from those very first moments, and to be a steady, reassuring presence as they step into this new chapter.

What You Can Expect
For birth support in particular, I prioritize deep and thorough care for the families I work with. Because of this, I limit the number of estimated due dates I take on per month: usually 1 per month, occasionally 2 may overlap. By doing this, I am able to offer you more of my time and on-call availability throughout your pregnancy as questions arise or additional encouragement is needed.

Pregnancy
Before your baby arrives, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and talking through what matters most to you. During our prenatal visits, we’ll explore your hopes, preferences, questions, and any fears or concerns you may have, while getting you and your birth partner feeling prepared for the experience ahead. I’ll also be available throughout pregnancy for questions, reassurance, and support as things come up - whether you’re looking for information, processing an unexpected change, or simply need someone in your corner. My goal is for you to head into birth feeling informed, prepared, and confident in the support around you.

Labour & Birth
When labour begins, you’ll have me in your corner from those first early signs through the birth of your baby. We’ll stay connected as things unfold, and I’ll help you understand what you’re experiencing, offer suggestions and reassurance, and join you when the time feels right - whether you’re labouring at home or heading to the hospital. Throughout labour, I’ll provide continuous emotional and physical support, hands-on comfort measures, position changes, encouragement, and a calm presence as you navigate each stage. I’ll also support your partner in feeling confident and involved, while helping you stay connected to your preferences and informed about your options as things unfold.

Post Birth
My support doesn’t end when your baby arrives. I’ll stay with you for a little while after the birth, helping you settle in, process those first moments, and making sure you feel comfortable before I leave you to rest and soak it all in as a family. In the weeks that follow, we’ll have time to reconnect, debrief your birth, answer questions, and check in on how you and your baby are settling in. Whether you need to talk through your experience, take a shower or sneak in a nap while I care for your newborn, or simply have a familiar face checking in, I’m here to support you through those early days.
